In the three years we owned our home, we'd experienced hot summers and cold winters. Our house, built in the 60s, lacked insulation, especially as two bedrooms backed onto the garage, which was uninsulated and subject to extreme temperature fluctuations. Using our heat pump only brought partial relief, and renovation was not in our immediate plans.  So, we were on a lookout for a practical solution.

The results were immediate and impressive. We noticed that we didn't have to turn on the heat pump as often, and even when we did, we could set it at a lower temperature. Our daughter, who feels the cold more, noticed a big difference in her room. It took her longer to feel the need to add extra layers. Also, the insulation seemed to help slightly during the summer, reducing the heat transfer from the outside.
